I quickly pulled myself back to the present as my students came walking into the room. I smiled as I looked down at my phone, reading the message he’d sent again. How could I forget? I felt exactly the same way.

Sheppard, Renegade, and Goliath were talking with Bishop when I walked into the clubhouse. They were studying the map he had spread out on the table. He was looking for the best location for us to lay low while we waited for the Black Diamonds. After a heated discussion, we all finally agreed on two possible locations. We wouldn’t know which for sure until we got there. Once we arrived, we could decide which place provided us with the best coverage. Bishop called Snake to finalize the plan.

Once they agreed on all the details, we followed Goliath to the back of the garage. He’d been meticulously going over the entire weapon inventory, making sure everyone was prepared. He unlocked the gun safe and gave us each several handguns and several boxes of ammo. We could’ve killed a fucking army with everything he’d given us. I took the gun in my hand as anxiety rushed through my veins. I’d never killed a man before, but there was a good chance that was about to change. I slipped the gun in the back holster Goliath had given me and placed the other gun in my shoulder harness.

“We need to get going,” Goliath announced as he continued to conceal his weapons. “I want to have a chance to look around before the drop off.”

“How many men are they supposed to have picking up the delivery?” Sheppard asked.

“Four guys are dropping off, and two guys are picking up,” Goliath responded. “It should be a routine drop.”

Goliath continued to load a large duffle bag full of rifles and handguns. He wanted to be prepared for anything, but I really hoped we wouldn’t need them.

“Just keep your eyes open. Snake’s men are prepared to take these guys out, but that’s not what we’re there for. Our focus is getting that shipment. Get in. Get out,” Goliath said firmly.

“Let’s get this party started,” Sheppard said, smiling. He’d seen plenty of shit during his time in the army, so he wasn’t even fazed by what was happening. I wished I felt the same way.

The Black Diamonds were scheduled to arrive at the abandoned gas station at 6:30. By the time we got there, we only had forty-five minutes to decide which location was best and get into our positions. Snake’s Sergeant of Arms, Bones, had his men set up behind the old garage. It would have good visuals, since it was connected to the gas station. I thought it was too risky, but they intended to make their move as soon as they started unloading the crates.
